Sibsagar University, located in Joysagar, Assam, is a state university established by the Government of Assam to provide quality higher education in Upper Assam. The university serves students across arts, science, professional and research disciplines.
With 22 departments offering 48 programmes, the university is dedicated to nurturing academic talent, advancing research, and contributing to the cultural and socio-economic development of the region.

A Message from the Vice-Chancellor
Sibsagar University was established to widen access to quality higher education in Upper Assam. Our purpose is straightforward: to teach well, to research responsibly, and to serve the region that sustains us. We are steadily building academic departments, laboratories, library resources and student services so that every learner who enters our gates leaves better prepared for work, for further study and for citizenship.
I invite students, teachers, parents and well-wishers to be partners in this effort.
